You'd be hard-pressed to find a more universally treasured beauty icon than Australian Lara Worthington. The model, mogul and mum has always had a simpler approach to beauty, leading the pack on beach hair and clean skin.
So naturally, when we got the chance to speak to her about her beauty and wellness routine, we had a lot of questions. Below, Lara shares her favourite beauty tips, tricks and why she loves TikTok when she needs some down time.
What's your morning and night routine? Do you have any non-negotiables in your beauty routine?
Every morning and evening, non-negotiable, is a nice warm shower. Mornings I double cleanse and even double serum (layered). Then I apply sunscreen, and sometimes a very light touch of brown mascara - away I go.
Since January I have been using Emma Lewisham and love all the products in the line. Never, ever blow dry my hair – always air-dry so I have to allow time for that. And for texture I tuck it (wet) behind my ears or twist the ends with my fingers. Evening is similar – double cleanse and a mask if I have time – even leaving a cleanser on for three or four minutes works well as a mask. I wake super early to work out before my sons get going for the day – I find going to bed early and waking earlier means I look brighter and healthier.

Describe what you do for a living? What does a typical day look like for you?
Varies completely from day-to-day. Sometimes I am on set shooting for a brand partner, other days I sit at my laptop and on my phone working on upcoming deals. My charity business Share The Base, takes up a lot of my time. We are working on a big restock right now and with the limitations due to COVID there’s a lot of manoeuvring.
What is your main form of beauty body maintenance? What products do you use on your body?
Honestly not a lot on the body. I find my skin will always look much better when I take care from the inside. All the classic tips: drink lots of water, stay out of the sun, eat well and be happy.
How do you keep fit/healthy? Does exercise form a large part of your routine?
I like a combination of things; now that I am in Sydney, I do Pilates at Fluidform with Kirsten King three to four times a week. I recently invested in a treadmill to have at home when going out for my workout isn’t doable. Living close to the beach I regularly go for walks with friends and family.
What procedures or professional treatments do you have as part of your beauty routine?
Have always loved a steam or sauna treatment. I do that a lot. Morning of the David Jones event I tried a sauna session at Slow House in Bondi which I loved and really noticed a difference in my skin the following day.
What do you do when your body needs to recover?
I try to sleep it off. My husband is incredibly supportive and will take the kids out for a few hours while I switch off, sleep etc. Zoning out for me means no work talk, no emails... maybe some funny TikTok videos and a long nap.
You’re tired or rundown: what is your beauty hack?
Guaranteed to help is drinking water. Sounds so simple but if you slowly sip roughly a litre of water over a fifteen-minute period you will feel a huge difference. That or Kate Moss's famous head-in-an-ice-bath remedy.
Do you have a beauty icon? Who are they and why?
Tabitha Brown is a vegan chef and actress. A delight to watch – so happy and bright. She always looks fresh, healthy and lively – every time I watch her videos I am inspired.
What is the best advice on beauty you’ve received? What is the best advice on health you’ve received?
After watching documentaries, learning from James Cameron and influenced by my husband we (my family) went vegetarian years ago and it has made a huge difference to our lives. Inner health relates directly to outer health and I have always believed what we put inside is reflected on the outside.
