Always reverent of women and desire, La Perla have unveiled 66 years of lingerie history, revealing their archives for the launch of their exclusive capsule collection inspired by the empowering years of the 1980s.
A celebration of sensuality, femininity and the female form - La Perla delved and drew inspiration from their couture rich archives for their new 80s capsule, uncovering pieces dating back to founder Ada Masotti and reimagining them all in a limited edition thirteen piece collection of lingerie, ready-to-wear and accessories. Provocative but tasteful, the collection celebrates everything from fine, luxurious and sensual featuring lingerie delicately crafted out of Italian Jacquard lace, Italian stretch silk slip dresses as well as a one shoulder dress in Italian stretch silk and satin.
Experimenting with self expression and empowered femininity, the collection blurs the lines between inner wear and outer wear with lingerie pieces designed to cross over both borders. Featuring full sheer jumpsuits, silk dresses and an Italian Jacquard lace corset, La Perla asks the women decide on whether they will be considered ready-to-wear or private lingerie for one's wardrobe. Eighties inspired accessories also made part of the collection with Lycra and Italian Jacquard Lace headbands, playfully complimenting the body sculpting intimates.
In light of the female form, the collection has also re-interpreted the female gaze. Seen and captured through a female lens, the campaign takes on an alter ego with photographer Indigo Lewin capturing London based model and actress Iris Law in an exclusive look book and campaign video. Founder and visionary corsetiere Ada Masotti answered women in their desire decades ago and once again La Perla have redefined and captivated the desire in femininity. La Perla's 80s capsule epitomises a time where women pushed boundaries and the status quo, only to prove, the female passion is just as reverent today as it was years ago.
