If television had a royal family, Kim Cattrall would surely be reigning supreme. And while her acting résumé is second-to-none, what we're truly obsessed with is Cattrall's style choices.
Since graduating from acting school in the 1970s, she's appeared on some of the small screen's most iconic shows of the last few decades. From her early appearances on shows like Colombo and Starsky & Hutch, to her career-defining role as Samantha Jones in Sex and the City.
Ever since her meteoric rise to fame, Cattrall and her cast mates have been thrust into the upper echelons of television's most fashionable names – both on and off screen; their red carpet appearances and street style scrutinised and replicated for decades to come.
Cattrall's personal style could be likened to that of her on-screen counterpart, the daring, sexy and bold Jones. Her sheer black lace gown on the 1992 carpet of the CableACE Awards felt brazenly ahead of its time, as did the red-hot sequin slip dress she donned in 2000 at the Golden Globes, where she received her first nomination for her portrayal of the beloved SATC character.
Cattrall is a fan of a slinky, floor-length gown on red carpets, and isn't afraid to stand apart from the crowd. As for her favourite designers? At the 2004 Emmy Awards, Cattrall donned this baby pink Pamella Roland gown, which feathered into an embellished skirt. For an afternoon at this year's Tribeca Film Festival she wore Alexander McQueen.
Cattrall stormed the 2003 Emmy Awards carpet as a nominee (a year where she also earned nominations at the SAG Awards and Golden Globes) in a glittering nude and silver Giorgio Armani dress, and who could forget the SATC cast's Y2K moment at their 2003 third season premiere, where Cattrall donned a glittering pink midi dress with silver heels.
Below we take a look at some of Kim Cattrall's best style moments from over the years...
