Don't you love the feeling when you're watching someone make her Mama's chicken enchiladas, and then poof, she pops up in a Juicy Couture campaign? I mean it wasn't that linear, and there were a lot of things that happened in the span of Gabbriette Bechtel's career before and after chopping that parsley. If the first time you've seen her is cooking up a storm over on Instagram, you might have missed that Gabbriette rose to prominence in 2019 after being recruited by Charlie XCX as the lead singer of the Indie pop band Nasty Cherry. The band had to take a hiatus due to Covid. Enter mouth watering cooking tutorials.
Browsing through the recent campaign imagery, you really do get the sense that this collaboration was something of a divine manifestation. Between Gabbriette's pencil thin eyebrows and signature lined lips and Juicy Couture's 00's nostalgic tracksuit sets, something just feels right. There's no doubt brands know how to pick them these days and this isn't Gabbritte's first rodeo. Recently, she has landed campaigns for releases like Kiko Kostadinov x Heaven by Marc Jacobs which also feels fitting.
The campaign is for Juicy Couture UK to front the brand's Spring/Summer 2023 collection. The campaign is dedicated to the brand's "Black Label" collection and will be entitled "A Juicy Bite." The collection features everything from classic velour suits to mini dresses. Standout pieces include a tracksuit set in neon green, and bright blue, a sparkly halter neck chainmail dress with the classic Juicy logo. A new print for the brand is snakeskin which you see splashed across tracksuits. Hammering that 00's nostalgia home, the collection is completed by low-rise pants and mini skirts. And if we're honest with ourselves, we want it all.
