When Simon Porte Jacquemus announces he's opening a store in Paris, you say "see you there." No questions asked, you book tickets immediately. And trust me, if I had the funds, I would.
On Instagram the designer told his 5 million-strong following about the new store, which is set to open on the luxury shopping strip, Avenue Montagne during Paris Fashion Week at the end of September. The location itself is a two-storey site wedged between Jil Sander and Gucci. It's safe to say the boutique is in good company.

The designer has experimented with pop-up stores in the past, most memorably with the Jacquemus flower shop, Les Fleurs, which sprung up in the 18th arrondissement of Paris at the beginning of 2021. According to Business of Fashion, this time around the store will include a greater offering of Jacquemus designs, encompassing fashion and accessories. Aside from that, much of the store details are intended as a surprise for now.

Now to answer the most important question: will this be a permanent move? From what we've gathered Jacquemus is using this as an opportunity to test the possibility of opening a brick-and-mortar luxury retail outpost. But for the moment the plans for this store are temporary, with its doors set to open for just five months. It's currently being described per Business of Fashion as an "ephemeral boutique" which certainly leaves options open for any potential changes to the plan.
Either way, it's been a busy few months for the designer. Between marrying Marco Maestri in what was a breathtaking wedding in Charleval and debuting Fall Winter 22 Le Papier collection, it's been milestone after milestone. Let's hope another is on the horizon.
