See inside the long-awaited new Jacquemus NYC store

It makes sense that a brand as idyllic as Jacquemus would have an equally aesthetically pleasing brick-and-mortar space. Until recently, however, Jacquemus' only physical postings were in France – a fitting locale for a French brand single-handedly changing what it means to dress 'like a French girl.' Now, the store is expanding its offering, and has found a new home a little further from its French roots, in none other than New York City.

Rumblings about the NYC store have been swirling through the fashion community for the last year. But only this weekend did we finally get a glimpse inside the space – and it's just as dreamy as everything else Jacquemus (helmed by Creative Director, Simon Porte) comes up with.

Located in Manhattan's SoHo, the store's exterior is sleek but unassuming 19th century brownstone. Inside, however, tells a completely different story. The 270-square meter, two level space is airy and inviting, with all the trimmings you'd expect to find in a house worthy of a spot in the pages of Architectural Digest. It makes sense: Porte reportedly treated the new store with the same care as his own home.

Upon first entering, customers are greeted by a curved staircase, which is lined by some of the brand's most famous handbag silhouettes, from the Bambino, to the Bisou Perle. Up the artfully curved staircase is where you'll find most of the clothing offering, which (if it's even possible) looks even more beautiful against accents of warm wood and the glow of floor-to-ceiling windows. It's not just the structure of the space that has us drooling: the store is fitted with all sorts of covetable furnishings, from chairs by Frank Loyd Wright, to photographs by Wolfgang Tillmans and Peter Schlesinger, and sculptures loaned from Galerie Dina Vierny.

If a new-season Jacqeumus piece isn't in your budget, we wouldn't blame you from visiting the store anyway, if only to take a perch on the baby blue couches and feel inspired by the sheer beauty surrounding you. Either way, customers (and window shoppers) will be able to visit the space from Monday to Saturday. And in even better news for our British friends, Porte also shared that London is the next city to be treated to a dreamy new Jacquemus store. Watch this space.
