If like us, you're longing to return to a simpler time; say the 90s for example, Netflix is offering us all an opportunity to do just that. All seven seasons of the iconic Australian teen-drama Heartbreak High is coming to the streaming platform this month, satisfying our nostalgia drought in the best way possible.

The quintessential Australian drama defined the adolescent experience of the era; breaking new television ground by discussing the real issues and challenges that teenagers were experiencing at the time. Heartbreak High explored the highs and lows of being an Australian teenager in its rawest form. From drug and substance abuse, homelessness, teen pregnancy and racism, the show spoke to teenagers in a way that no other pop culture phenomenon could – essentially, it was the Euphoria of the 90s.

The show's premise is based on the original feature film, The Heartbreak Kid, which starred Alex Dimitriades and Claudia Karvan. Christina, played by Karvan is a straight-out-of university high school teacher, who lands her first job at one of the roughest high schools in Melbourne – before long, winning the minds and hearts of her students, particularly Nick (Dimitriades). Nick's storyline continues past the film, with Dimitriades returning to the Heartbreak High universe for the first series.

Aside from the show's remarkable ability to resonate with its audience, Heartbreak High cemented the term "rack off" as a colloquial mainstay; simultaneously launching the careers of several key Australian actors we continue to love today. Australian sweetheart, Aida Nicodemou, The Mentalist's Simon Baker, Bridesmaids' Rose Byrne, Marvel Universe alum, Callan Mulvey, Alex Dimitriades and more become the stars of after-school television.

Now, we can re-watch the iconic cast as they navigate some of the most challenging years of ones life, when the show drops on Netflix on November 27.
