It's little surprise that Harry Styles is a man of many talents, juggling careers in music, acting and fashion design. But now his résumé includes the unexpected addition of perfumer, thanks to a recent announcement of a new fragrances line made via his boundary-blurring beauty beauty line Pleasing.
Founded back in 2021, the brand has dabbled in lip balms, serums, moisturisers, nail polishes and capsule makeup collections – but they have just quietly announced their foray into the fragrance market, with three new "sex-themed" Pleasing scents: Closeness, Rivulets, and Bright, Hot.
All three of the fragrances were crafted in collaboration with natural perfumer Robertet.
Pleasing has been hinting at the launch of a fragrance range for a little while now, sending peel-off fragrance strip samples to customers in their e-commerce orders for the last month. The Chief Executive of Pleasing, Shaun Kearney, even told Business of Fashion recently that: “Being a brand that is deeply rooted in the exploration of colour, emotional storytelling, and sensory experience, it is a strategic move for us to expand into this category."
Styles joins a long line of celebrity-turned-beauty-brand-founders like Ariana Grande, Hailey Bieber, Lady Gaga and Selena Gomez – even Aussie TikTok influencer Anna Paul dropped a sell-out skincare line. But while the idea of a celebrity fragrance is not a novel one, the idea of a "sex-themed" scent certainly evokes some originality.
While Styles's brand has remained somewhat ambiguous in terms of its offerings, launching into the fragrance market does seem like natural move to round out of their sensory universe.
When will Harry Styles's fragrances be released?
All three scents in the range are scheduled for release in October, but an exact date remains unannounced by Pleasing at this point in time. In the meantime, you can sign up to the brand's mailing list for updates on their website here.
Where can I buy Harry Styles's fragrances?
For now, Harry Styles's fragrances will only be available to purchase via Pleasing's website in October. But they've hinted at plans to bring the scents to some brick-and-mortar retail spaces soon.
