Dreams of suburbia: Gucci meets the dreamlike streets of Christopher McVinish’s world in our November issue

In the November Legacy issue of RUSSH, Gucci meets the dreamlike suburbs of Christopher McVinish’s world – a symphony of nostalgia, anchored in weathered landscapes and quiet elegance. Jake Terrey’s lens captures this dialogue, where fabric and paint merge to tell stories of time, memory, and place.

Crimson garments frame the silhouette against the peeling facade of House on the Hill (2023). In another frame, the cut of a black Gucci gown mirrors the stark modernity of Ocean View Flats (2023). Models Yana Karapaunova and Hannah Alford dominate each frame, their presence as steadfast as the homes behind them. The soft leather curve of a hobo bag contrasts with the muted structure of buildings. It’s a portrait of duality – poise and defiance, tradition and reinvention.

This story exists in the intersections: art, fashion, and architecture converging to celebrate heritage while gesturing toward modernity. McVinish’s painterly landscapes imbue each frame with a sense of place, where stillness is layered with emotional texture. Gucci’s creations, styled by Hannah Cooper, emerge as both statement and echo – pieces that nod to the past while carrying the strength of contemporary design.

Here, in this collaboration, art and fashion breathe as one – timeless, fleeting, unforgettable. Together, they conjure a space where memory lingers in the folds of fabric, and beauty feels as lively as the brushstrokes on McVinish’s canvas.
