Did you know that Gen Z has their own astrological chart? Here’s what it means

Every generation is born with a unique and specialised astrology. If we believe in fate and destiny, we can also say that there is a collective destiny each soul incarnates to fulfil a piece of the puzzle. The oldest Gen-Z’er is now 29, and Millennials are passing the baton to coach the next generation of thought leaders, designers, cultural tastemakers, and social activists alike. People born between 1995 and 2012 are considered part of Generation Z. If you’ve been in the new age space for even a moment, you’ll notice that Gen Z is well-versed in the esoteric arts, constantly seeking answers to quell their existential questions.

Every astrological chart includes three generational planets: Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

Pluto in Sagittarius (1995-2008)

In mythic lore, Pluto is the God of the underworld, a powerful figure that ushers souls into its kingdom to surrender to the experience of death and rebirth. In the sign of Sagittarius, which personifies travel, wisdom, and stewardship, it’s no surprise that Gen Z has learned to “hack” the system and spread awareness and knowledge of freedom. Whether redefining traditional religion or questioning authority to identify the pitfalls of leadership, Gen Z stands as a legion on themselves. Given that Pluto also embodies wealth, in the outspoken sign of Sagittarius, one could argue that Gen Z prioritises working for companies that align with their social and political beliefs, when possible.

Uranus in Aquarius (1995-2003)

As the generation often scolded that they were “raised” by the internet, it’s uncanny that the planet representing innovation, Uranus, is in its ruling sign, Aquarius, the archetype of the ‘genius’. When aren’t Gen Z reinventing the internet as we know it? Through constant trend cycles, there is a restlessness to be in a constant mode of change in the cyber world; everything is fast-paced, and topics of interest spread rapidly. Over the next few years, especially with Pluto (finally) moving into Aquarius for the next 20 years by the end of November, we will see a new rise of ‘influencers’ who have the capacity to play pivotal roles as local and global social ambassadors. Every planet and sign carries its own blend of light and shadow, which means there will inevitably be a few rotten apples in the pile.

Neptune in Aquarius (1998-2012)

For those obsessed with 2000s culture, one can never forget the infamous line spoken by Sandra Bullock as Gracie Lou in Miss Congeniality: “And world peace!” This encapsulates the twinkle in Gen Z's eye – the idealistic vision of a fair and just utopian reality. Neptune, the planet of spirituality and unconditional love, is also in the sign of community and activism, Aquarius which explains why Gen Z is incredibly proactive when advocating for human rights worldwide. There can never be enough humanitarians like Greta Thunberg and Malala Yousafzai in the world, and both previous and future generations will continue to grow in admiration for these remarkable souls. All we can do is sit back, take notes, or join them on the front line, because the world as we know it is morphing at an accelerated pace.
