Gemini is associated with the mythology of two brothers, Castor and Pollux. Inseparable, one was mortal and the other immortal. When Castor was mortally wounded, his brother Pollux begged his father, Zeus, to bring him back to life. A deal was struck. The two siblings could spend time together and then each would alternate time in the two realms, separately. Gemini has the capacity to hold true and express a very ancient Vedic perspective; we can be one thing and another thing, simultaneously. Rather than the constricting binary world of this or that, Gemini’s intellect is more primed for a ‘both’ reality. Like Castor and Pollux, walking amongst multiple worlds though tethered in flesh, both siblings are aspects of the one being.
To function most optimally, it is important to be on the Earth (in your body) and not just in the realm of the mind. The higher expressions of your sign come through committing to your own patch of grass. So how do you consciously utilise your gift of curiosity that wants to explore all the worlds that call to you? What I’m about to say might sound like a paradox. The more that you can consciously commit to your life and the world that you are creating, the more freedom you will gain. Commitment doesn’t mean a ball and chain. Or doing things you don’t want to be doing. As a highly malleable air sign, you can absorb whatever environment you place yourself within. So, how consciously are you curating the environments that you place yourself within?
Jupiter, the ruler of your opposing sign, Sagittarius, enters Gemini on 26th May and will live here for a year. Jupiter is experiential wisdom, it’s the meaning maker, the student and teacher. This great, optimistic transit will be leading you towards gaining more of your own wisdom through lived experience; taking that intellectual interest out of the books and into life and metabolising your knowledge through lived experiences. A question for you this year is: how do you live your knowledge? The eclipses in Libra and Mars this year are in a positive aspect to your sign. They are a chance to clearly see where your high-level adaptability may have steered you from your own individual course.
If you find your chameleon nature is something that you are not in the driver’s seat of, then use this nodal transit (all of this year) to really anchor more and more into the lessons of the North Node in Aries; what are my wants, needs and desires and how do I take action towards bringing them to life? Committing to your life might feel – from the outside – like it limits the buffet of life. But the more you commit to your things, the less scattered your intel is. It’s cool that you can answer 20,000 general knowledge questions. It’s even cooler dedicating your energy towards the things that truly bring you a sense of vitality and help you to build a life that feels freeing and alive to you.
