Cartier announces Austin Butler as the brand's new ambassador
Cartier has announced actor Austin Butler as the Maison’s newest Ambassador. With a storied 15-year career spanning television and film, Austin stars as Elvis Presley in the much-anticipated Baz Luhrmann directed movie, Elvis, this summer. “We are delighted to welcome Austin into the Maison as an Ambassador for North America,” said Arnaud Carrez, Cartier’s Senior Vice President Chief Marketing Officer. “As a talented actor, Austin’s bold approach to life and unique sense of style are inherently aligned with our core values here at Cartier.”
The Aboriginal Literacy and Numeracy Foundation collaborates with Deus Ex Machina
The Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation (ALNF) have joined forces with Australian creatives Deus Ex Machina to design a limited-edition commemorative t-shirt as part of a powerful campaign transforming and empowering First Nations communities through literacy, language and education. This campaign is for all Australians, to come together to tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation.
Featuring Australia’s most recognisable faces including Adam Goodes, Danzal Baker (Baker Boy), Hugo Weaving, Lance and Jesinta Franklin, Brooke Blurton and Eddie Perfect wearing the commemorative tee and sharing their messages of support during National Reconciliation Week. Designed and printed in Australia on 100% cotton, the limited-edition tee is available for sale from 27th May 2022 for $59.99 with 100% of the proceeds supporting ALNF’s work with First Nations communities.
Givenchy teams up with Disney
Givenchy has announced its collaboration with Disney on a limited-edition capsule collection of ready-to-wear pieces designed by Matthew M. Williams. This is the first iteration of a series inspired by some of Disney's most iconic and inspiring characters, and launched in select locations and Givenchy's website on May 17.
Calvin Klein launches 2022 Pride Campaign
Calvin Klein's latest campaign, This is Love, celebrates chosen families withing the LGBTQIA+ community. A cast of friends, partners, lovers, neighbours, allies, and more share what family means to them, highlighting the spectrum of intentional and important connections that exist within the LGBTQIA+ community. The campaign features the brand's new collection, a reimagined approach to Pride.
Captured by John Edmonds in the emotive style of a photo album, the campaign cast includes LGBTQIA+ trailblazers, entertainers and advocates. The campaign features filmmaker John Waters and actress Mink Stole, actress Sasha Lane and Sergio Lane, team members from LGBTQ youth organisation The Trevor Project, musician Snail Mail and her people, legendary ballroom house House of Xtravaganza, hairstylist Holli Smith and her fiancé Pony, actor Justice Smith, and his boyfriend Nic Ashe and Afrofuturistic arts collective TRIBE. Shot in Rome, the city that never ceases to amaze and stands as an eternal source of inspiration for Bulgari, the brand relies on five extraordinary women, such as American actress Zendaya, BLACKPINK singer Lisa, Chinese actress Shu Qi, Anne Hathaway and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. SIR Launches Pre Fall 22
Entitled, A Future Past, SIR's Pre Fall 22 collection is inspired by reflection on the co-existence of nature and man-made objects, with a close study on the relationship where antagonistic materials, textures and colour form a harmonic scenario.
Pre Fall 22 embodies different qualities and personas in a fictional drama, emphasising individuality and expressing a different view of the SIR. woman as she pushes forward to the future. A muted palette in hues of brown, sage and tan reflect the natural world, while the symbolic duality of nature vs object is met with shades of white, black and red. The aforementioned synergy once again anchors the collection through classic plaid and geometric prints that sit harmoniously with new season florals.
