And so we've come to the end of yet another frenetic week – one punctuated here in Sydney by the start of the FIFA Women's World Cup and general can't-believe-it's-mid-year-already hubbub. But here at RUSSH we live to serve, and as always, we've rounded up the fashion news – collaborations, capsules, campaigns, sales, and the like – that we think should be placed under your nose. From LOEWE's new menswear campaign starring Omar Apollo and Jamie Dornan, to Maison Balzac's warehouse sale, here's everything you might have missed this week in fashion...
Maison Balzac warehouse sale
Homewares fanatics assemble! Purveyors of all fine things, Maison Balzac, are hosting a warehouse sale this Friday 21 July and Saturday 22 July at 1593-1599 Botany Rd, Botany (enter via Pemberton St). From 10am-4pm, you'll have the chance to peruse their wares, with up to 80% off some of Maison Balzac’s popular glassware and wax collection. Be warned though – it's a card-only affair (sorry, no cash).
Anna Quan drops their Fall Winter 23 collection
Today, Anna Quan's Fall Winter 23 collection is released. Entitled TWO, it is a lesson in simple playfulness. Brand founder Anna Hoang has built herself a reputation for designing collections centred on the idea of a 'staple wardrobe', focussing on silhouettes that feel timeless, and colour palettes that transcend season. With those sensibilities in mind, TWO is designed upon these structural elements – ice-blue suiting, unexpected patterns; texture at the fore in the form of lace, knit and sequins.
Lucy Folk Origins project
Lucy Folk's new mixed-media creative project entitled Origins is an ode to the nostalgic and playful memories that inspired her while designing some of the brand's most memorable jewellery and loved pieces, some of which have been part of the collection since the brand's inception 15 years ago.
In collaboration with the graphic designer and visual artist Sophie Jurkiewicz, Folk has created four mixed media projects to celebrate the tactile elements of her everyday life that energise her the most, from food, gems, vessels, textures, ceramics and even organic materials collected by her son on an early morning walk.
Dior's expands its Rose des Vents collection
Dior's Rose des Vents collection has expanded to include precious new models reflecting the creative flair of Victoire de Castellane, Artistic Director of Dior Joaillerie. The House's new campaign imagery for the collection stars K-Pop star Haerin (from NewJeans), adorned in the sparkling new pieces that bring together a disc adorned with a compass rose and a reversible motif composed of ornamental stones or pavé diamonds.
LOEWE FW23 Men’s Campaign
LOEWE's new men's campaign, shot by David Sims, explores the possibilities of the gaze and the body gesture to express feelings and sensations. The sole protagonists of the images are singer and songwriter Omar Apollo and actor Jamie Dornan, adorned in simple accessories and a curated selection of symbolic objects.
The campaign imagery is an homage to the artist Julien Nguyen, whose work was central to the inspiration behind the collection – particularly his interest in old masters.
