The days just feel like they're flying by this time of year, but we're here to keep you in the loop with all the fashion news you might have missed this week – from the shock exit announcement from fashion designer Tom Ford, to Italian fashion house Bottega Veneta's new fanzine project featuring a special tribute to Matthieu Blazy's love for Kate Moss.

 

Tom Ford exits his eponymous label

Legendary fashion designer Tom Ford is leaving his brand, having made the shock announcement that he will be exiting his eponymous label after more than a decade at its helm. The designer's exit was announced in an Instagram post on Thursday, which announced that their upcoming Autumn Winter 2023 collection would be his last.

 

Bottega Veneta are releasing a fanzine

Since their foundation in the mid-60s, Bottega Veneta has championed the idea of a collective vision, and in keeping with the spirit and history of the House, they are a releasing a multi-volume fanzine alongside their Summer 23 collection.

The first two volumes will encapsulate the motion and emotions of Bottega's latest collection, featuring Gaetano Pesce's creations and unseen photographs, while the third volume comes directly from the mind of Creative Director Matthieu Blazy's longstanding adoration for supermodel Kate Moss.

 

Artists take over Balenciaga store windows

Balenciaga’s ongoing Art in Stores project has welcomed its latest artist-in-residence, English multi-disciplinary artist Rosie McGinn. McGinn's inflatable sculptures, kinetic caricatures bearing resemblance to Balenciaga models from their Fall 22 runway show, have popped up in store windows, elbowing out the mannequins.

 

Tod's x Tim Walker exhibition in Milan

Tod's has collaborated with internationally renowned photographer Tim Walker on a video and image project titled: The Art of Craftsmanship: A Project By Tim Walker.

Launched during this year's Salone del Mobile in Milan, the project paid homage to the brand's quality craftsmanship and attention to detail through a whimsical and surreal lens. The imagerywill be on exhibit to the public as part of the Milan Design Week from Saturday 22 April, before travelling abroad. We can expect to see the exhibit on our shores later this year.

 

Bassike drops their Fall Winter 2023 collection

Ausralian label Bassike has launched their latest collection, inspired by the idea of understated luxury for an elevated, everyday look. Shot on location at Monika's DoggieRescue in Sydney's Northern Beaches, models dressed in textural ensembles (featuring wool, draped mohair, ribbed jersey and cashmere) are flanked by furry canines of all shapes and sizes.

 

Dior presents their Fall 23 collection in Udaipur, India

The House of Dior's latest campaign is set against the poetic and dreamlike backdrop of Udaipur, India, featuring models in shimmering jewel-tone shades of silk, entranced by the interplay of light and shadow. Paying homage to the traditional vernacular of Indian dress, Maria Grazia Chiuri proposes the collection as a captivating odyssey, and an ode to this ancient and fascinating country, and its wellspring of inspiration.
