Nile Rodgers dons Chanel eyewear for their latest campaign
The iconic musician Nile Rodgers featured in Chanel's new eyewear campaign, alongside models Vivienne Rohner and HyunJi Shin.
Shot by Karim Sadli, the campaign pays homage to the heydays of nightclubs as artistic melting-pots, and the irrepressible chic of the 70s. Rodgers, Rohner and Shin don an array of new and classic styles from the French fashion house's latest eyewear collection, including timeless black frames with quilted-effect arms and decorative chains, retro aviators and oversized frames in creams and pinks. Rodgers also opts for a custom Chanel beret, of course.
Sandy Liang x Salomon capsule collection
New York City-based designer Sandy Liang announced she is bringing her girlish, whimsical stylings to Salomon in an upcoming capsule collection with the heritage footwear brand. Liang fans know that this is not the beginning of the relationship between these two brands, as Salomon shoes have been sported on their runways and in Liang's ad campaigns for years. For their debut capsule collection, the brands will be releasing versions of Salomon's classic RX Moc 3.0 and XT-6 Expanse shoes in supple pink and grassy green colour ways, accented by Liang's signature floral motifs.
The collection will be available at select Salomon brick-and-mortar stores and online from May 5. It will also be available at Liang's Lower East Side retailer and online from 28 April.
Bottega Veneta introduces Craft In Motion, a film by Massimiliano Bomba
Massimiliano Bomba's new film shot at Bottega Veneta's atelier in northern Italy celebrates the brand's heritage, commitment to exceptional craft and preservation of the house's unique savoir-faire.
The film, set to be released on 17 April, will give viewers an insider's look into Bottega Veneta's meticulous handmade processes, showcasing their ethos and commitment to quiet luxury. The brand's creative director Matthieu Blazy said of the film "“I think luxury is something you feel rather than see; it is much more personal and emotive for the person wearing the clothing than for those looking at them. I want the wearer to be empowered without the clothing being loud. It is style over fashion in its timelessness.”
