Indigenous Fashion Projects partners with Helen Kaminski to safeguard First Nations art, design and culture
Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair Foundation’s (DAAFF) Indigenous Fashion Projects (IFP) has partnered with Helen Kaminski to help reduce exploitation and improve collaboration of First Nations textiles and fashion. The initiative is supported by Arts Law and IP Australia, alongside funding from the Australia Council for the Arts’ Re-imagine Sector Recovery Initiatives. The initiative is designed to safeguard Indigenous interests and culture, alongside gaining a deeper understanding of the ways in which First Nations artists and designers work with the industry.
Saint Laurent’s latest Rive Droite exhibition
Saint Laurent has launched its latest Rive Droite exhibition, this time with artist, Elladj Deloumeaux. The artist has created a seres of artworks exploring an open and vibrant approach to the relationship between people and imaginaries, with his work focusing on Afro-Caribbean images. 30 artworks will be exhibited in the Saint Laurent Rive Droite store in Paris and two at the Saint Laurent Rive Droite store in Los Angeles
Temple of the Sun Launches Ceremonial
Temple of the Sun has launched its much awaited ceremonial jewellery collection, hand-crafted in ethical solid gold. Designed by Creative Director Yonna Derofe, the collection includes a bespoke design service for those wanting to express themselves in the brand’s signature blend of contemporary and ancient style. It comes after the brand released their first solid gold collection in May, something close to brand founders, Darren and Yonna’s hearts.
Lucy Folk Launches Salt
Antipodean label Lucy Folk has launched its Salt collection, just in time for the warmer weather hitting Australian shores. The campaign was shot in rugged oceanic settings of scattered caves, setting sun and the salty air, it is a tale of connection and family, inherent to the brand. Pieces include staple gold jewellery, a frequent colour of the Lucy Folk brand, coming in designs of necklaces, earrings and bangles.
Magda Butrym Launches Spring Summer 23 Collection Campaign
Womenswear brand Magda Butrym has launched its Spring Summer collection, titled Pleasure Garden, featuring Natasha Poly. The collection is a considered range of playful garments, with delicate accoutrements and detailing, ensuring every piece tells its own story. Trench coats are found alongside pink jumpsuits and floral dresses, while brocade sets and sequin skirts and blouses add a disco feel to the release.
