What makes a Miu Miu woman? She's intuitive, that's for sure. Potent too. Decisions are made and felt deep down in her gut. That, and she's always down for a good time – those micro minis get that point across all too well – although she knows how to slip out unnoticed. Among the faces at the Miu Miu spring summer 2023 show unveiled at Paris Fashion Week, was one we won't soon forget: Esther McGregor.
At 20-years-old the actress, tattoo artist and now, model, is the archetype of this Miu Miu spirit. Maybe it's the Scorpio in her or the patterns of tattoos that crawl up her arm, but Esther McGregor comes to us with an intensity and fire that can only be burnished through her partnership with the Italian House.
Short but sweet, in a RUSSH exclusive film lensed by John Murd it's evident to all who view it that Esther McGregor has arrived. A road to self discovery that begins and ends on that runway under the glimmering projections of Europe-based Chinese artist Shuang Li. Last-minute touch ups are made – the side-sweeping of McGregor's gamine haircut, adjustments to the layers of cotton jersey she wears and the final zip-up of those sock-tight boots that are bound to be picked up as the season's hottest accessory. The film catches these quiet moments backstage.
Opening a show is always a special moment, and as McGregor stepped out for her fashion week debut, we sensed immediately it wouldn't be the last. She was, of course, in good company alongside names like RUSSH 100 cover star Julia Nobis, Lindsey Wixson, Bella Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, and FKA Twigs, all wearing a collection that is bound to go viral like that of the season that came before.
