There is nothing quite like a good pair of jeans. Treat them right, and they will likely last for decades, just let E.L.V. Denim, the East London brand which uses 100% solely upcycled materials, prove it. For their AW22 collection, the brand is introducing new seasonless styles to expand E.L.V.'s current offering, and elevate the brand beyond denim.
It is the only denim brand in the world that uses 100% upcycled materials, and for AW22, E.L.V. will apply this successful model to new materials for the first time, introducing shapes such as cotton poplin shirts, jackets, and trouser suits alongside dresses and skirts to offer a capsule wardrobe that thinks of the planet first with fabrics that are originally destines for landfill.
After experiencing the United Kingdom’s textile waste issues first hand, Founder and Creative Director and RUSSH's fashion editor at-large, Anna Foster, felt it a natural step to evolve into other product categories and to scale the idea of E.L.V. Denim as a successful upcycling concept beyond denim, always designing from a point of waste. Incorporating new materials is a further step towards the zero-waste brand becoming fully circular, and allows Foster to breathe life into old discarded denim, cotton and beyond, creating something new and beautiful from each piece.
The collection is comprised of essential denim, plus the addition of slouchy tailored suiting, where cropped blazers feature slits in the front for extra movement. Button down poplin shirts are printed with mismatched stripes in monochromatic and pale blue stripes, with accompanying long-line cotton skirts. In one shot, the cotton set is layered underneath a long, medium-wash denim trench with frayed hems.
In March 2022, Anna Foster won the Women In Innovation Award, which spotlights a diverse group of trailblazing women who are changing the world through the power of their ideas. Anna was recognised for her commitment to E.L.V. DENIM as an innovative business model which only uses post-consumer waste to upcycle into new garments.
