There's never a shortage of things to buy. While we are in a difficult financial climate right now – restocks, recommendations and wish list items can take up some serious real estate on our notes app. So, what are the RUSSH Editors spending their money on this month? We are here to take you through what we have on our shopping lists. And while some items may stay on the list, others will make it to checkout. Spend responsibly, friends.

My May shopping list starts off somewhat practical – first up being the Carry On Suitcase from July in Charcoal for all my essential travel needs. It’s the perfect light-weight carry-on luggage for those mid-week work trips or a fun weekender. My favourite Aussie chef Ellie Boudhana (of Hope Street Radio fame) has just released her debut cookbook Ellie’s Table and I will be ordering myself a copy – stat! I was recently gifted some of Aesop’s Reverance Aromatique Hand Wash and it has become my newest obsession – I will be restocking later this month. Glossier’s Full Orbit Eye Cream has been calling my name, and lastly, I’m considering splurging on some gorgeous merino wool or cashmere socks from Comme Si.

The first thing I am buying this month is a new phone case. The one that came with my phone is giving me major sensory issues and I can’t take it for much longer. A Google search turned up this cute one from The Dairy and I love how bright and happy it is. I also recently learned that ankle socks are apparently out of fashion, so I will need to add some crew socks to my drawer. I like the Paire ones because they’re thick and warm. I bought some in 2020 and they’re nowhere near close to worn out. I’m also going to treat myself to a new lingerie set from Chouchou. I’m obsessed with the new Ciao Bella range. With the weather getting colder, I’ll need a little knitted wrap to throw on after Pilates. I love this Everlane one because it can be dressed up into workwear too. Not technically on my shopping list as I was gifted this one, but Saint Valentine’s Panther Bracelet will be stapled to my wrist this May. I adore it.

It’s time to rug up and hunker down. May has come at me like a non-stop freight train with AFW, Sydney Writers Festival and Sydney Film Festival all baying for my name. To cope, staying warm and energised is vital. For replenishment, I swear by the Nin Jiom Pei Pa Koa extract as well as Beef Bone broth - this one from NutraOrganic will provide that collagen injection I’m always after. I’ll also be adding this Innisfree caffeine eye serum to keep my bleary eyes at bay. My Aesop Hwyll fragrance is also needing a top-up, so I’ll be tapping away on my card. Onto the fashion: I’m in the market for a new tote to lug around my gym kit and my laptop, and this Balenciaga Le Cagole would be the perfect addition, if I had a couple grand to spare. I’ll have to source a worthy contender at my local op shop instead.
Somehow this seasonal pick turned into my shopping list, but chacun ses goûts. To one’s own taste.

Food, fashion and homewares are some of my great loves so as usual my wishlist features a bit of everything. I can’t stop thinking about this feather-trimmed Miu Miu shirt, the same with this Jil Sander blazer and these Bermuda shorts. My Palorosa basket bag didn’t make it to Sydney with me so I am desperate to replace this, it is the best bag for work, weekends, travel, everything. Originally I had a solid colour but this time I think I’ll go for the black and cream at Good Things Store.
As we moved house recently I have been spending a lot of time at Muji stocking up on basics for the kitchen. There are a few cookbooks on my list, one being Apartamento’s ‘Somehow Salads’ the other being ‘Atelier September’ by Frederik Bille Brahe (who you should follow on Instagram). I currently have beautiful bedding by Sutram but we need a second set and I have been eyeing up ROOMIE, they do bundles and I love the Cloud + Affogato colour combination. I’d like to get a few of these crates from HAY to use as bathroom organisers/storage and less practical (but arguably just as important) I am obsessed with these silly candles from Nonna’s Grocer, as well as this Flensted Mobile.

This month I will be purchasing restocks of my everyday favourites that have been squeezed of all their juice. First up is my Kosas concealer which is a must have for both 'no makeup' days and full glam. I've been fighting with my haircare bottles of late, so I'll be repurchasing my Virtue Flourish shampoo and conditioner. And the final item on my list of restocks is lip balm. My pot of Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask has been through it and has lasted longer than any other lip balm so it's a no brainer in going back for more. While it is a 'sleeping mask', this product is on my lips from dawn till dusk as well and the berry scent is chef's kiss.
You have me on record for only buying what is needed this month, but if you were to twist my arm for what I'd buy if I was in that frame of mind – I would be adding this CAMILLA AND MARC Evander Coat to my basket faster than a rat up a drain pipe. No further explanation needed.

My list of things I would love to buy is very long so I’m attempting to reign myself in and be practical about it.
First cab off the rank is definitely a black leather tote. I have a beautiful peach coloured one I currently use, but it’s become less practical with all the red making its way into my wardrobe. The Yu Mei Teresa tote has been calling my name for a while now, as has the Aesther Ekme Lune tote bag. If I was allowing myself to be excessive then this Jan-Jan Van Essche canvas one would also be coming home with me. I can claim it on tax so it’s pretty much free, right?
I’m in desperate need of jumpers now that the weather is changing and the Camilla and Marc Tamsin boyfriend jumper is the perfect oversized fit. The Viktoria & Woods Toronto jumper is also the most beautiful shade of orange for autumn.
Not something I’m buying necessarily, but the new issue of RUSSH just hit newsstands and it’s the perfect Sunday afternoon treat if you need some time out. If you get in quick enough you can even score yourself a free Chloe Zara haircare pack.
Last but not least is a pair of adidas x Wales Bonner maroon sambas. I absolutely do not need these but I want them very badly. A girl can dream.

I am still on the hunt for the Loewe cropped folded puzzle tote bag in Sydney, as sadly they aren’t in store anymore. I’m not one to wear hats really, but I saw IDEAS caps suggested by Cass, and really like this one, either in black or green, they have so many fun quips. I have also worn out a lot of my jeans, I loved these P. Johnson light jeans. I have also been obsessed with Reformations tops such as this Amela Linen one. And call me crazy… but a part of me wants the Loewe ‘I Told Ya’ shirt…

I’m feeling very homewares / lifestyle focused at the moment, so accessories for the home is top of my list this month. Merci Maison just launched a new edit of vintage Italian objects - I want it all, but this Murano vase and brass candlesticks are certainly favourites.
I collect coffee table books, and The Modern Architecture of Cadaqués 1955-1971 is one I’m eyeing for my collection. I’m also very tempted by this collection of recipes from one of my favourite restaurants in Copenhagen, Atelier September. They have mastered simple dishes using fresh, seasonal produce, and aesthetically everything is always perfect.
New towels are my favourite way to freshen up the bathroom, and I love the simplicity of this essentials set by Baina, with just a touch of colour.
I have to include a little fashion moment of course. My friends at Rylan make great bags, and their latest design, the Mila, is top of my wishlist.

This month let’s manifest lotto wins and a dream wardrobe. First stop, the Bottega Cassette bag that has been on my bag vision board since I was 18. A statement blazer in my favourite colour is also a big gimme - this Jacquemus option is so beautiful and would pair well with my wardrobe of jeans, sneakers and a t-shirt. I also think the most classy shoe I’ve ever seen are the Chanel slingback heels, and this pair is so chic I think they are a big need. Finally, I haven’t straightened my hair in about 10 years, but perhaps its time to re-explore my options for my intensely curly hair. Maybe a Dyson Airwrap is what I need to tame the frizz?

There’s never a shortage of stuff on my ‘to buy’ notes app. I’ve concluded I want a new winter coat — very into this Proenza white leather, but it’s more of a wishlist item. Realistically, I might go after this shorter double breasted option from Toteme. I was served an ad for Faithfull the Brand’s new collection last week and immediately saved the Anais Mini Dress — perfect packing for the Euro summer and I love the subtle bubble hem. I think I’m about to pull the trigger on the Harris Tapper Irving Trousers in Umber, I love a bias cut and the soft grey-brown feels like a nice departure from black that’s still easy to wear. As for beauty, I’m excited to get my hands on the new Acne Studios for Frederic Malle perfume. A dream collab and I’ve heard good reviews.
