Dylan Kain looks to early 2000s motifs for SS22 collection, Forever Chic

In partnership with Dylan Kain

Dylan Kain has announced its SS22 collection – Forever Chic – intended as homage to true, timeless design. With Sarah Ellen the face of the campaign, the collection is a considered edit of leather goods, silk and fine jewellery accessories produced in limited run, lensed by Jamie Heath.

Designed in its Australian studios, Forever Chic is the Dylan Kain interpretation of quintessential early 2000s style. Pieces juxtapose one another, with minimalist designs imagined alongside maximalist accessories, catering to a range of tastes and persuasions. Sleek, suave and contemporary, it is a meld of trending motifs and pieces to be treasured.

Pieces are designed to be functional, with crossbody straps a staple of many of the bags in the collection. In addition to this, many feature a shoulder strap allowing for range when it comes to the length the bag is carried – versatility a staple of the brand. Coming in a neutral colour palette – with the exception of a cornflower blue shade – each piece is designed to carry with it the playfulness of Y2K, yet reimagined in a contemporary setting and wardrobe.

Underscoring the collection is an endeavour to create sustainably, with Leather working Group (LWG) certified-Italian leathers employed in a custom palette of Fawn, Blue and Black. The LWG certifies tanneries based on environmental performance in components like water, energy use, waste and air emissions. This is integral to the brand, to help minimise environmental impact, as per Brand Manager, Bonnie Davis.

“It is important that we choose tanneries that are making active changes to reduce their impact and continue to do everything we can to evolve and minimise our impact too,” says Davis. Each Dylan Kain collection is produced in limited quantities, also tying into the sustainable ethos.

Dylan Kain Forever Chic is available to shop from the brand’s website and David Jones.
