Last week, YSL Beauty wiped its entire Instagram only to hard-launch Dua Lipa as the new global face of makeup. Iconic.
The Training Season singer has worked with YSL since 2019, fronting campaigns for its fragrance, Libre.
But this move is big, one Lipa describes as a natural progression in their relationship. She joins the likes of Zoe Kravitz and Blackpink's Rosé, signalling a new era for the luxury brand.

Her appointment coincides with the global launch of Loveshine, a glossy hybrid lipstick-balm that delivers pigment and shine in spades (note it won't be available in Australia for a few months). In the interim, reach for the Rouge Volupte Shine Candy Glaze. It has a similar moisture-rich sheen thanks to the inclusion of hyaluronic acid, vitamin E and cold pressed mango oil.
Lipa has made a name for herself in the beauty universe over the years. Her makeup evolution has been epic. Back when she first released Future Nostalgia, her go-to look disco glitter (often the work of her longtime makeup artist Lisa Eldridge). She's also well known her her sunburnt blush, bold brows, fresh skin and winged liner. Just last week she appeared on The Graham Norton Show with a slick wing and nude lip, courtesy of artist Sam Visser.
The campaign, shot by director Nathalie Canguilhem in Morocco, is a makeup fever dream. As per Stephan Bezy, International General Manager at YSL Beauty, Lipa is the "perfect woman to lead the new generation of make-up consumers" and bring an “electrifying energy” to the YSL offering.
New job, new album, new hair colour. Hail queen Dua... 2024 is shaping up to be her year.
