In exciting news for purveyors of luxury beauty (and seriously chic packaging) Dries Van Noten Beauty is coming to Australia. From August 27, the collection of fragrances, colour cosmetics and accessories will be available exclusively at Mecca.
The news comes three years after its 2021 launch. An extension of the existing eponymous fashion House, Dries Van Noten Beauty was created with the intent of expanding the sense of brand story-telling through colour, contrast and clashing combinations. Van Noten, the now-departed creative director, has long been known as one of the leading tastemakers in fashion. His eponymous label is well-loved for its vibrance and use of print.
The beauty products follow a similar suit. Comprised of lipsticks, fragrances and accessories, the collection is dressed up in bold colour and pattern. The fragrances and lipsticks are all refillable, and prioritise recycled and recyclable materials (including silk pouches made from fabric offcuts).
The lipsticks come in 30 shades (eight of which will be stocked at Mecca), including satin, matte and sheer finishes. Enriched with rosehip oil and shea butter for nourishment, as well as a custom scent, they redefine what it means to swipe on a luxury lip.
The fragrance collection is largely inspired by the gardens that surround Van Noten's home in Antwerp. The designer worked with international perfumers to create each scent – there's a selection of toilettes and parfums – all of which are gender neutral. There's also a selection of scented hand creams and soaps.
It wouldn't be Dries without some thoughtful accessories. From leather mirrors with clashing pouches to resin combs and leather pouches, each is designed to compliment the ritual of getting ready.
