Once again, Dr. Martens have entered in to another major collaboration this year — although we're definitely not complaining, the iconic boots are never too far from our hearts. This time around its partner of choice is Marc Jacobs and together they're serving up all our 90s fantasies with a two-part capsule to round out Marc Jacob's 'Heaven' line.
Arriving in two silhouettes, a low-cut shoe and an eight-eyelet boot, the range harks back to the days of Riot Grrrl. Both of the Audrick 8i HMJ iterations are swathed in a jet-black, glossy, croc skin outer and retain Dr. Martens heritage yellow stitching around the sole and heel. What sets this collection apart from other punk-leaning Dr. Marten ranges is the cutesy embellishments. Onlookers will note the silver daisy-shaped hardware serving as eyelets and neatly lined up either side of the tongue. Black laces play a more subtle role; in place, of-course, to secure the shoe for the wearer, but also to prop up Marc Jacobs signature double-headed teddy charm in silver — the logo for the 'Heaven' collection.
In a further salute to the era of grunge, both shoes possess a stacked Quad Neoteric sole, although with much deeper divots than that of Dr. Marten's popular Jadon boot (a welcome addition for the shorter among us). Also, built in to each pair are Dr. Marten's SoftWair soles for that extra slice of comfort.
After Dr. Marten's capsule early this year with Rick Owens and then Supreme, we're taking this as a sign that this is only the beginning of many more hype-filled team-ups to come and our feet are primed and ready.
Does this collection speak to you? Well, keep your eyes peeled for it this Thursday, September 9 where the line will drop on the Dr. Martens website and at select retailers. Run, don't walk.
