A career spent “photographing attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places”: there’s no one who made the sweet life of the 50s, 60s and 70s look quite so delicious as image-maker Slim Aarons. From poolside parties overlooking Coachella Valley to sundrenched scenes at Antibes’s Hotel du Cap Eden-Roc, they’re captures that inspire plane trips and endless mid-afternoon daydreams. Premiering Friday November 11 as part of MADE Sydney, The High Life: Slim Aarons gives focus to the man behind the images – a former war photographer who was a part of the high society he captured.
The documentary – an M2M original film produced in partnership with Getty Images - will screen for the remainder of the weekend alongside an exhibition of Aarons’ works at Carriageworks, Sydney.
