Nolita’s newest all-day cafe is a work of art in its own right. From the vibrant, Instagram-ready food to the clean lines informing the interior space right down to the designation – the cafe takes its name from the midcentury minimalist artist Walter De Maria – the team behind De Maria have cultivated a creative atmosphere with the menu to match. Chef Camille Becerra, formerly of Café Henrie in the Lower East Side and Navy in Soho, stays true to her signature style, serving up colourful, health-focused fare that tastes as good as it looks. Testament to this is the stylish troupe of Downtown scenesters, hip foodies and creative types De Maria has attracted since opening its doors earlier this year.
