All the highlights from Copenhagen Fashion Week SS25

Copenhagen Fashion Week for SS25 is in full swing this week, and already there are plenty of highlights to discuss. A. Roege Hove's show was a reintroduction of sorts, reappearing on the CPHFW schedule after a brief hiatus, while OpéraSPORT maximised the summer weather with their outdoor showing at the sun-drenched Exillion Garden near Copenhagen. There are also plenty of up-and-coming designers on the CPHFW schedule this year that we think you should get to know.

For all the show highlights and events from the week, read on...

OpéraSPORT

OpéraSPORT’s Spring Summer 2025 show was held at the enchanting and sun-drenched Exillion Garden near Copenhagen. This hidden gem, with its Italian Renaissance and French Baroque influences, served as the muse for their latest designs; a collection that reflected a timeless aesthetic, merging classic architecture with lush greenery. Brand co-founders Awa Malina Stelter and Stephanie Gundelach showcased vibrant floral colours and sophisticated prints – including a new quilt design – dresses, swimwear, and an expanded seamless capsule, all crafted from recycled or organic fabrics. Frills, stripes and ruching were central to the textures on display, with feminine leather accessories – like floral string belts and cowboy boots – punctuating the collection alongside jewellery from AKVA Jewellery.

A. Roege Hove

Knitwear brand A. Roege Hove are back on the schedule this year after a brief hiatus, showcasing their niche ability to do technical, body-conscious knitwear. Designer Amalie Røge Hove's meticulously crafted knits are futuristic and tactile, their SS25 show offering layered styling of opaque pieces, paired with functional black heels. Beauty was kept pared-back on the runway, highlighting the Scandi

Cecilie Bahnsen

While not on the runway schedule, the whimsical universe of Cecilie Bahnsen was expanded with their Resort Women Off Season 2025 collection release this week. The Danish designer's everyday approach to couture continues to redefine Scandinavian fashion design, and this collection of neutrals in some of the brand's classic diaphanous silhouettes stayed true to its unique vision of modern femininity and the blending of poetry and practicality.

Sól Hansdóttir

The Icelandic Central Saint Martins graduate's Ready to Wear Spring Summer 25 collection drew inspiration from Ásta Fanney's poem River & Sugardusk, in particular the "surrealist, punk, ritualistic fantasy" present in its words. Entitled ‘Simulation Swan', the collection saw 14 models move through dynamic choreography by John William Watson, a showing that verged on performance art. Crafted entirely from dead stock materials, organic Organdy cotton and bamboo jersey, the collection melded organic shapes, voluminous sleeves, earthy hues and electric blues to evoke a sense of movement and fluidity.

Marimekko

Marimekko's ss25 showing entitled 'Parade of Flowers' certainly did feel like an explosion of flora on the runway – bright colours and archival prints melding together over a Scandi fave combo of white tube socks and neon orange and silver ASICS Dad sneakers. Delving into their iconic archive, the brand used SS25 as a means to breathe new life into their classic floral abstractions, while collaborating with artist Petra Börner, who added her lively brushstrokes to the mix.

Irish designer Sinéad O'Dwyer, the Zalando Visionary Award 2024 winner, took to the city’s Opera Park for her CPHFW debut. Inclusivity and diversity were central to the show, with models of all backgrounds and sizes present, and even one model taking to the runway with her guide dog. Garments were structured – panelled, woven and ruched to perfection – paired with plenty of silver hardware, bubble-soled shoes from Grounds Footwear, and undergarments from Savage x Fenty.

Rotate Birger Christensen

The Danish retailer's line closed out Copenhagen Fashion Week in an outdoor showing at the manicured gardens of Copenhagen Royal Library. Designers Thora Valdimars and Jeanette Madsen turned out a series of looks that emulated their party-girl ethos with a sophisticated edge. Sparkly fringed garments, strappy summer sandals, capri pants, bubble-hipped shorts, rompers and crocheted sets made their way down the gravel-laden runway, paired with stacked and styled pieces from Pandora's PANDORA ESSENCE collection, and complimented by the iconic Snake Chain bracelet and hoop earrings from the Pandora Moments collection. Custom jewellery pieces handcrafted by artist Grete Henriette also appeared in the show, including a maxi dress featuring 2000 Pandora Timeless Silver Tennis bracelets, while belts and flowers adorning the garments were handmade by utilising more than 300 Pandora Moments 14K yellow gold-plated necklaces to mirror the floral motifs of the SS25 ROTATE collection.
