Of course Chloë Sevigny had a secret wedding at the beginning of March last year, and of course both she and her husband Siniša Mačković looked painfully chic in what seemed like a rather paired back ceremony.
Revealed via a post on Instagram which depicted an image of the pair standing on a sidewalk wearing mostly black, Sevigny captioned the post " Married on a Monday, March 9th 2020, Happy one year anniversary my love." The laid back approach to the announcement was entirely in true Sevigny nature, as was her chosen bridal look, which consisted of a high-neck jersey midi dress with opaque black tights and classic pistol boots. The only traditional wedding symbol present? A perfectly charming chiffon headband veil that the actress wore in a separate Instagram post in late March and a small posey of white flowers.
Mačković looked equally chic, as always, wearing a black suit with wide-leg pants and a white button down underneath. On foot, he wore two-tone black and white Oxfords which sported Dr. Martens signature yellow stitching and track soles.
While Sevigny seldom fails to provide reprieve from the endless extravagancies associated with celebrity culture, this certainly feels like one of the most monumental displays of that. We can surely all agree that the institution of marriage is archaic and heteronormative on its best day, so seeing people step away from the extravagancies alongside the unspoken rule of wearing virgin white is always momentarily refreshing.
