I wish you were here. Saint Laurent presented its Summer 21 Women’s ready-to-wear collection by Anthony Vaccarello this week. The revelation saw infinite desert landscapes and vast sand dunes presented via runway film in collaboration with Nathalie Canguilhem.
Dedicated to the freedom of movement, Summer 21 was a nostalgic dream complete with pure, soft shapes and an ultimately sensual mood - 60s references were fused with the comfort of today and collection staples were an instant hit. Now, as part of the French Luxury Maison’s digital project, creative director Anthony Vaccarello tapped several iconic Saint Laurent muses and some new faces to wear key pieces from the new season.
First up is Saint Laurent’s most recent major muse, Rosé Park. The K-pop star and member of Blackpink, not to mention a global sensation with millions and millions of followers, released a series images to her Instagram wearing new collection pieces. Park dawns a pinstripe blazer, blouse and leggings, completing the vintage look with floral necktie and chain belt.
Next up is fellow house muse, Kaia Gerber. Sporting newly fresh hair extensions, a major update from her iconic short bob, Gerber is seen wearing what I feel to be the hero of the Summer 21 collection – long ribbed bike shorts with subtle YSL logo. A popular choice.
We then have a surprise (and welcome) appearance from our favourite Emily in Paris star, Lily Collins. Here, Collins also sports the signature bike shorts, this time paired with the equally notable slingback heels, orange tinted shades and silk blouse… all the while on a tennis court?
Last up is Hailey Beiber, wearing an off-the-shoulder top with delicious fluffy fringe sleeves and again, complete with the signature bike shorts and slingback heels. This feels like a modern day Saint Laurent version of Sandy from Greece and we’re here for it.
