“1.) wear cool clothes 2.) hang with sis 3.) talk don’t be quiet 4.) have fun”... is valuable advice to live by according to artist Carla Uriarte, recorded in one of her journals (two weeks or two decades ago..?).
Carla is an authentic and genuine creative soul, her artistic endeavours spanning from painting, to ceramic making, DJing, and hosting community events and some of the most fun you can have of an evening in Sydney at Chippendale’s Freda’s bar.
The pieces on her Pandora's Moments Charms bracelet are quirky and fun, just like her. We spoke to Carla about her journaling process, who is inspiring her in 2020 and what music you can expect to hear at her grandmothers birthday party.

Pea green.
Tell me about your journaling process – do you journal everyday? What inspires you to write? How old were you when you started collecting your journals?
I write sporadically - whenever it's needed. The process stabilises my thoughts - gives me clarity and shines some light on the weird things that live in my head. I've been writing since I was 7 years old, it used to make me feel mature lol.
If you had to choose a favourite piece of writing in an old journal, what would it be?
My list on how to be cool that I made when I was 10 in the year 2000.

What advice have you been given in life that has stuck with you?
