It's been a long and cold night since the last time the iconic American fashion house of Calvin Klein had themselves a fearless leader – but today, that era ends. The House announced a new and fresh face at their helm – a name that you might not yet recognise at face value, but which we're sure you will soon… Veronica Leoni.
Now, if you're a fashion aficionado, you might recognise Leoni's name. She's certainly no newcomer to the industry, but this is definitively her biggest role to date.
Calvin Klein haven't had a creative director at their helm for more than five years – since the departure of Raf Simons at the end of a fairly short stint. Here's hoping Leoni might take the House to new heights with her minimalist designs and knack for modern tailoring and sophisticated sensibilities.
Who is Veronica Leoni?
Veronica Leoni is an Italian fashion designer who cut her teeth with several high-end fashion brands like Jil Sander and Celine. Which makes sense given Leoni's aesthetics, which are defined by clean lines, sophisticated tailoring, and a modern, minimalist sensibility.
She also founded her own label, Quira (named after her grandmother, the seamstress Quirina), and has been a consultant for the Olsen twins for The Row.
She was a finalist for the 2023 LVMH Prize last year, and she has recently been working with Moncler, where she contributes to the Moncler Genius project, a collaborative initiative bringing together multiple designers to reinterpret Moncler's classic styles.
When is Veronica Leoni's first Calvin Klein collection?
Leoni will present her first collection for the cult American fashion house during the Fall 2025 season later this year.
The collection will encompass both womenswear and menswear, as well as their iconic underwear and accessories.
Who is Leoni replacing at Calvin Klein?
The last creative director at Calvin Klein was Raf Simons, who served as the Chief Creative Officer for Calvin Klein from 2016–2018.
During his tenure, Simons brought a fresh, avant-garde approach to Calvin Klein, however, his departure marked the end of a relatively brief period withthe brand.
