Woody, androgynous, sensual, a promise. On Wednesday night, friends came together at Hope Street Radio in Melbourne to celebrate Byredo Mojave Ghost with MECCA Beauty.
Inspired by a drive through the desert, Mojave Ghost is a soulful mix of rare plants, powdery violet, musky ambrette, sandalwood, cedar and Chantilly musk. It's clean but cool – a genderless favourite recently fronted in a new campaign by model Amelia Gray.
The night started with music, scent stations, blue margaritas (yes, really) and natural wine. The team at Hope Street Radio are known for their food — maybe the best in Melbourne? – so snacks were a priority. Focaccia, Gilda's, oysters and crudités to start, before martinis and sticky date sandwiches were served for dessert. Just before 9pm, electro pop brother-sister duo Lastlings took the stage, playing for a full house-turned-dance-floor.
It was a night that touched all senses — sight, sound, taste, touch and most notable, smell. Mojave Ghost is a love letter to the inspiration and stimulation we can find in the world around us – last night was just that. Take an exclusive look at the night that was with RUSSH and MECCA below.
