By now, we're all very familiar with the covetable fragrance brand that is Byredo. The brainchild of Swedish basketball player turned perfumer, Ben Gorham; the brand's instantly-recognisable packaging has become a regular fixture on our Instagram feeds. So, when the luxury fragrance house announced a new venture into the land of makeup, we were understandably thrilled. After months of anticipation, we're now finally going to get our hands on the collection, as Byredo makeup makes its way to Australia.
The Byredo makeup collection first launched in selected regions in Septemeber last year. So, it would be fair to say that it has been a long-time for us beauty fanatics down under. The MECCA gods finally answered our prayers, announcing that the highly-sought-after range of products will be arriving in stores and online in July of this year.

Similarly to Gorham's approach to fragrance, his first makeup project was far from conventional. Everything from the collection's striking packaging, (which, is a selling point on its own), to the bold colours. The collection is a clear rejection of monotony – and the binary – with each product serving a multipurpose function. The line consists of a multi-use Colour Stick, eyeshadow palettes of varying size, Space Black mascara and Technical Black eyeliner, as well as the Byredo Lip Balm and Lipstick.
To create the collection, Gorham enlisted the assistance of makeup visionary Isamaya Ffrench. Speaking of the collaboration, Ffench shared; “I’ve always wanted to redefine the approach to creating a makeup collection. I don’t want to tell people how to wear the cosmetics, just to inspire them. I wanted to create a sense of freedom in the way we approach using makeup but also in the way we communicate the products. Byredo can be anything–that is what we are trying to establish."

If the vibrant hues and sculptural packaging weren't enough to grab your attention; the collection is also made with only clean and natural ingredients.
When July comes around, you know where we'll be.
