Teenage dreams. The video for Jack River’s new single Fault Line is a bright-shining fantasy played out on racetracks and in late night diners, but the reality behind the psych-pop ballad goes deeper. Written by River – real-name Holly Rankin – alone in her room while a party went on outside, it’s a musing on lost love, composed with catharsis in mind: “you were so bright, I was so blind”.
Here, River takes us behind the scenes of the Fault Line video, directed by Matt Sav, ahead of her dates at Grow Your Own and Beyond The Valley festivals – and next year’s national tour.
