Sometimes you just want an artist to play their greatest hits – and that's a sentiment that Bottega Veneta's current creative director, Matthieu Blazy, plays by in his work. He isn't trying to reinvent the wheel with each new season's collection for the Italian fashion House. While Blazy certainly doesn't recycle the same tired designs, he's got a knack for leading each collection back, re-connecting it with the core of the House's message and codes, and allowing each new collection to harmonise with that melody by way of emphasising the atelier's supreme craftsmanship and timeless silhouettes,, and of course to continue to place focus on statement accessories and intricate leatherwork.
