There's an out of this world quality to the Bottega Veneta Spring 2022 collection, through the colour palette, fabrics employed and musings of then Creative Director, Daniel Lee. Coming together in the centennial issue of RUSSH, model Betsy Volk embodies the experimental, athletic look of the collection, styled by Hannah Cooper.
There was a distinctly sporty theme underscoring the collection, echoed through the garments lensed by Isaac Brown. While shot in an ethereal, dystopic setting, pieces in denim, leather and pleat fabrics evoked athletic undertones. Tennis whites, dark denim and tracksuits crafted in a cross-hatch knit imitating the signature intrecciato motif, it showcased Lee at his best; a blend of fun, technicality and quintessential Bottega Veneta flair.

In the shownotes of Bottega Veneta Spring 2022, Less said there was a “momentum to the collection” and that it “comes from a place of progress,” speaking to a joyful future.
“American sportswear and workwear is seen through a contemporary, high-performance daywear lens,” explained Lee in the shownotes. “A sense of individualism and freedom is expressed. A celebration of industry, engineering and revolution runs throughout in the form of metal yarn. A focus on technicality and function, meets modern, liberated glamour. The manipulation and exaggeration of construction and volume is important.”
