The new cult classic. Bottega Veneta has announced the upcoming release of its new 'Kraft' paper bags. And we know what devotees will be coveting from this day forward. (A hint: they're brown, endearingly crumpled and made from recycled corrugated cardboard.)
The already-iconic Shoulder Pouch and BV Twist bags are among a number of styles being re-imagined in the material. And, FYI, the 100 per cent recycled and FSC certified paper is water and winter proofed. According to the brand, the bags feel 'soft. Light. Breathable.'
Part of Bottega Veneta's Pre-Fall 2020 collection, they join the brand's growing arsenal of cult favourite accessories under the creative direction of Daniel Lee (formerly at Phoebe Philo's Céline).
As per Lee's notes on the collection, Pre-Fall 2020 "Celebrates Bottega's heritage made relevant for today" with a collection defined by 'attitude, shape and colour.'
'Bold shades. Instant pleasure:
The cool rush of a swimming pool.
The satisfying ‘pop’ of bubble gum.
The confidence of a bright red lip.
Inky black and storm.'
Stompy boots meet leather sweat shorts. Shimmering pieces are made to feel casual, with just the right amount of slouch. Defiant shapes pair back with gentle accents of bare skin. And rushes of aqua, red and citrus have us thinking that colour might be cool again.
The result is confident, sensual, tactile and wearable. And - as per the upcoming paper bags - not devoid of the all the idiosyncrasies Lee's new Bottega is known for. Not to mention a lookbook featuring Selena Forrest that has us convinced.
If you want in, the new Bottega Veneta Kraft paper bags are launching in stores in late June.
