K-Pop fans, BLINKs, sneakerheads, tracksuit enthusiasts – we have found the nexus of your universe. In what we can only assume will be a saccharine delight of streetwear clothing, BLACKPINK are once again collaborating with adidas because the launch of a new album and single just wasn’t keeping the foursome busy enough.
What can we expect from the adidas BLACKPINK collaboration?
Before we blow our tops, the adidas BLACKPINK collaboration is still an unspecified project according to both the brand and the band, with the relationship between the two dating back to 2020. In their previous campaign for the brand, the band featured alongside Yara Shahidi, Ninja and Pharrell Williams in the Change Is a Team Sport campaign, followed by a second collaboration as part of the Watch Us Move activewear range.
We’ve previously seen the quartet clad in pink and black tracksuits and streetwear, featuring the iconic adidas triple stripe running along the outside of the top and pant. Sneakers, socks and beanies also received the tick of approval from the band in previous campaigns, so we are expecting similar themes in their latest collaboration. Of course, collaboration and adoration for brands are not uncommon for the ladies of BLACKPINK with Lisa having walked the Celine show and Jennie collaborating with Chanel.
If there’s one thing on which we are certain when it comes to the BLINK’s of the world, it is that they are nothing if not fiercely loyal to BLACKPINK. Thus, it came as no surprise that their fans vocalised their disappointment at Jisoo’s absence from some online and in-store promotion for both previous collaborations. Jennie, Lisa and Rosé were all prominently featured, leading to many fans voicing their frustrations online with the hashtags #AdidasTreatJisooBetter and #AdidasApologiseToJisoo. A recent post on Adidas Originals’ Instagram also featured several comments from BLINK’s instructing the brand to respect the singer.
When can we shop the adidas BLACKPINK collaboration?
A release date for the upcoming adidas and BLACKPINK collaboration is still to be announced, however their new album releases this Friday, August 19.
