Anthony lead a stacked field from start to finish, acing the qualifying mark before sending her best score in every successive final to carve her name into Australian sporting history.

American Samoa’s flagbearer broke the internet

It wouldn’t be an Olympic round up without a mention of a shirtless flagbearer at the opening ceremony. This year, the flagbearer duty fell upon Nathan Crumpton who competes in the skeleton event. The 36-year-old is a graduate of Princeton University where he competed as a track athlete across long and triple jump. He became the centre of attention at the ceremony when proudly carrying the nation’s flag while wearing traditional dress.
