These are the best concealers of all time, according to ‘RUSSH’

Finding the best concealer is a worthy beauty pursuit. For one, they're purely functional – a concealer's purpose is to cover up marks, scars, spots and dark circles. Your perfect formula will also depend heavily on your skin type, whether that's dry, oily or somewhere in between. The area of your face might even influence the product you reach for — personally, the concealer I use under my eyes is not the same one I use on my acne scars.

But finding the one can be a revelation, the difference between makeup that's good, and makeup that's great. To help you sift through the mass of what's available, the RUSSH team has rounded up 15 of the best concealers available. These are the ones we've all used, tested time after time and loved. In no particular order, find them below.

1. Kosas Revealer Concealer

This is a newer launch, but the Kosas Revealer Concealer has definitely achieved cult makeup status. Creamy and emollient, it's a skincare-enriched formula that be used alone, or across the entire complexion in lieu of foundation. It's hydrating and boosted with caffeine, so I find it especially impressive under the eyes.

2. Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer

This is a long-time MUA favourite, and probably the best concealer I've ever used. It's densely pigmented, buildable and has a semi-matte finish, meaning it actually covers things like breakouts, pigmentation and scarring without looking cakey or unnatural. The shade range is great, as well.

3. Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer

Another NARS pick, but the Soft Matte pot is even more pigmented than the Radiant Creamy Concealer, so it's perfect for oily skin. A makeup artist also told me that it's the best formula to cover up broken capillaries and redness. Sold.

4. Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer

If you want a full coverage, transfer-proof formula, this is it. Forever Skin Correct has a natural velvet finish, long wear and buildable pigment for a fresh, skin-like effect. The large flocked applicator also makes it a cinch to use all over the face.

5. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer

Shape Tape was a viral product pre-TikTok, and its allure remains. One of its main selling points is that it's crease-proof, making it a smart choice for under the eyes. Despite its matte finish, the formula blends easily imparting a flawless, almost-blurred effect.

6. Lancôme Teinte Idole Ultra Wear Concealer

Just like the foundation counterpart, Teint Idole Ultra Wear Concealer offers targeted coverage that brightens and unifies skin tone. Despite being full coverage, it sits comfortably on the skin — no caking, creasing or dryness. Instead, it's buttery and soft with a semi-matte finish.

7. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer Multi-Use Concealer

This drugstore formula has been around for years. It's always been great, but is having a moment of late thanks to its creamy consistency and efficacy when it comes to concealing dark circles. The sponge applicator is a nice touch, as is the skincare-bolstered ingredient listing (Goji, Glycerin and Peptides included). It's quite emollient, so nice for dry or mature complexions.

8. Bobbi Brown Skin Corrector Stick

There's just something about a stick that's so easy. The Bobbi Brown Correctors are creamy enough to ensure natural coverage, but dense enough to properly camouflage spots, discolouration and redness. They're easily blended with just your fingers, as well.

9. Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Concealer

This concealer means business. Not only is there 50 shades in the range, but the formula is extremely pigmented — a tiny bit goes a long way. It's definitely a matte formula, so great for those with oily skin (or just anyone that prefers a flawless powder finish).

10. Huda Beauty Fauxfilter Luminous Matte Liquid Concealer

Huda Beauty's Fauxfilter concealer is for true makeup enthusiasts. While it's matte, the formula isn't flat or drying. Instead it serves up radiant coverage that moves with skin, but maintains a flawless finish all day long. Once it sets, it doesn't budge either.

11. Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer

Despite feeling very lightweight on the skin, Rare Beauty's best-selling concealer does a great job at concealing things like scarring, circles, redness and discolouration. It's breathable, creamy and comfortable, plus the extensive shade range directly correlates to the Soft Touch foundation (so no need to find your shade twice).

12. Tower 28 Serum Concealer

Tower 28 is a brand with lots of buzz right now. The Serum Concealer is incredibly hydrating, so it won't cling, flake or separate, even on super dry skin. It's silicone, fragrance and alcohol free, so perfect for anyone who is reactive or sensitised.

13. Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer

The Vanish Airbrush Concealer has a smoothing effect that's really impressive, especially when it comes to texture or creases around the eyes. It's waterproof, and contains micro-encapsulated powder particles for a semi-matte, long-lasting finish.

14. YSL Touche Eclat

While it's not technically a concealer, it would be a crime to leave Touche Eclat off this list. The brightener and corrector is a foolproof way to counteract dark circles, or simply illuminate high points on the face such as the cheekbones and cupid's bow.

15. Cle de Peau Concealer Stick

Cle de Peau's concealer stick is expensive, but it's good. The formula somehow marries infalliable coverage with a creamy, undetectable finish. It works all over the face – including the eyes – and will leave your skin looking luminous but natural.
