“I need to create to feel like me - to make things, to be happy.” Organic and refreshingly innovative, jeweller and artist Holly Ryan crafts tokens to last an eternity. Adept at “seeing beauty in imperfection,” Ryan’s sculptures are intensely personal products of her creative process, self-taught yet refined, rendered in sustainable products such as Hebel, “materials already of the earth, so you’re not [unnecessarily] mining materials to make them”.
From February 8, an exhibition of Ryan’s latest sculpture works, A Carved Revelation, will be on display at Jerico Contemporary, Sydney, through February 24. Press play for a behind the scenes glimpse into Ryan’s creative process, exclusively on RUSSH.com, directed by Mitch Noakes.
