The upcoming November full moon, otherwise known as the Beaver full moon, will take place on November 27, at 8:16pm AEDT. The full moon, which is taking place in the sign of Gemini, will have a significant focus on communication, learning, curiosity, and adaptability. As with all full moon's, there will be an energetic sense of release that is felt – which, in most instances, can be a time to let go of things that no longer serve you. However, as we know, the cosmos has a mind of its own, so it's still worth being cautious of what you're letting out and what energy you're letting in; but more on that, below.
What is a Beaver full moon?
You might be wondering, why is the upcoming full moon being dubbed as a 'Beaver Moon'? Well, the answer actually has a very sweet connection to nature. While we might not come across many beavers here in Australia, the origins of this lunar event correlate with the time of year beavers begin sheltering in their lodges. Essentially, this full moon, at least in the Northern Hemisphere, marks the end of fall, and the beginning of winter, but for us residing in the Southern Hemisphere, we can take it as a chance to let go and embrace a feeling of rebirth as we head into summer.
Why is the November Beaver full moon important?
As I mentioned before, full moon's are a great opportunity for release, but with this lunation in the chatty twin sign of Gemini, and with a focus on communication, it's best to be cautious of how you're communicating this release of energy with others. Gemini is currently transitioning through Sagittarius, which offers a more 'zoomed-out' perspective on situations. However, it also makes us susceptible to jumping to conclusions or speaking on certain situations before we know all the facts – despite how passionately we might feel on the matter.
In this same vein, the full moon might push us to make more impulsive decisions – across all areas of our lives. Some advice? It might seem obvious, but be sure to think before you speak, and to check the attitude and energy of those on the receiving end of your words – yourself included – before you say something you might regret.
When can you see the November full moon in Australia?
Thankfully, you won't have to stay up too late to see the November Full Moon in all its glory tonight. The Beaver Full Moon will be at its strongest at 8:16pm AEDT. So, grab a picnic blanket, take your dinner down to the beachside or out with nature, and prepare to soak in all that lunar energy!
