Back in May 2022, Balenciaga ushered hundreds of guests to the New York Stock Exchange floor for the first time ever, for the brands Spring Summer 2023 collection. Within that collection, the anticipation that Balenciaga would be collaborating with adidas was high in the air, and as masked bodies swathed in Demna's signature silhouettes stomped across the floor, the collaboration was revealed, alongside pairs of particularly destroyed Stan Smith's, which are reportedly dropping soon.
On the runway, they poked out of the hems of the co-branded baggy jeans, glimpses of soiled, brownish black leather hinting at the classic shape. This time, the Stan Smith isn't about being perfectly crisp. In true Demna fashion, the OG sneaker is busted and bruised, sporting big destroyed energy to mirror the Paris sneaker, the brands extremely-worn sneakers.

The original, distinct Stan smith shape is still intact, however, with a design of washed out black leather on the upper and a scuffed-up midsole. The Balenciaga x adidas co-branding is found on the tongue and insole of the shoe, while flat black laces and the signature perforated Three Stripes finish the shoe's recognisable silhouette.
As for the rest of the collaboration, adidas motifs were offered up as the brands signature baggy tracksuits complete with the three-stripe treatment, alongside windbreakers, suiting, robes, and accessories like leather sports duffel bags and miniature handbags, and logo printed footballs shirts. There was also an array of denim, long coats, and the brands signature Triple S sneakers sporting the Three Stripe motif.

According to Demna's number one fan account and Balenciaga insider, Demnagram, the Balenciaga x adidas Destroyed Stan Smith is expected to release later this week on November 3. Would you cop?
