Ahead of this year's Qixi Festival - a Chinese festival in which happens on the seventh day of the seventh luna month of every Chinese calendar year - Balenciaga celebrates all things love, romance and relationships with its new exclusive Qixi 2021 Series.
We see some of Balenciaga's biggest heroes reimagined for love, including the Hourglass Bag, Balenciaga Track Sneakers and Balenciaga Track Sandals redesigned and envisioned in cutesy iterations of pink and black faux fur. We see everything from the kitschy to the nifty with easy to gift souvenirs such as heart shaped bag charms, pendant necklaces, earrings to even festive friendship love bracelets, celebrating union and love in tribute to the mythical Qixi festival this year.
The new Balenciaga Qixi mini collection has also seen the house's popular logo hoodies, t-shirts, caps and socks undergo transformation, refashioning itself in pink, black and white, featuring cherubically adorable souvenir style "I heart Balenciaga" embroideries splashed across the chest.
Also running in parallel to the new Qixi 2021 Series collection release, Balenciaga has selected and partnered with artist Haotian Wang on the collections new campaign. Exploring the artists interpretations of dating in the modern digital age, we enter the world of virtual reality dating with Balenciaga drones and selfies through a short campaign film and photo series.
