Balenciaga's Spring Summer 2024 chapter centres on the idea of crafting the modern uniforms for urban living. Defined by global street style, notions of utilitarianism, and Balenciaga's own Garde-Robe line of wardrobe essentials, its as much about style as it is about functionality and mobility – a nod to the very fundamental foundations of fashion.
For the pages of our March 'Life' issue, models Electra 3000 and Clara Fossar do away with colour in a monochromatic shoot via the lens of photographer Olivia Lorraine Tran. Styled by Charlotte Agnew, the House's collection is an amalgamation of influences, both in sync and in stark contradiction to one another; maximalist branding and athleisure sparring with logo-less tailored pieces and sophisticated gothic references. It's a fitting depiction of the contemporary Balenciaga, which oscillates between contemporary camp, and uncompromising luxury, but never failing to bring the drama.
