The antipodean brand of organic cotton toweling, Baina is set to launch their Collection 01. Range Extension from this October.
Baina was established a year ago in Melbourne by New Zealand high school friends Anna Fahey and Bailey Meredith. After working for a design-led furniture manufacturer, the duo found themselves drawn to the homewares industry – much like the rest of the collective world in the year 2020.
After a highly successful collection launch, Baina has taken a considered approach to extending their first collection. New key styles include variations of their signature and highly coveted checkerboard designs, an introduction of their first ever bath mat in sage and chalk, the Josephine hand towel in paloma red and ecru and the much-loved Roman pool towel is now available in sage and chalk.
Co-founder Anna Fahey understands that bathing and self-care is a must. “Bathing is a daily ritual, a form of subconscious meditation and an essential time with self. Whether it is awakening you gently from a night’s slumber, or slowing you down after an active day, we all make time to bathe, so why not highlight and extend this.”
For the campaign shoot, co-founders Fahey and Meredith chose the architectural wonder that is the Kiwi owned Caroline House in Melbourne (winner of the 2019 Australian National Architecture Award for best house). Photographed by friend Greta van der Staar and featuring model muse, Georgah Crane, the shoot captures the incredible graphic lines and luxurious colourways that seamlessly mould with the occupier and space.
Each collection of towelling is mindfully made in Portugal, with co-founder Bailey Meredith stating, “We work with a GOTS certified manufacturer and all BAINA towels are made from 100% GOTS Certified cotton. We keep our collection tight, mindful of every new design we release, ensuring there is a purpose for its existence. It’s important that whatever we produce is being done so in a way that honours those principles and standards we hold both as individuals and as a brand.”
The Baina Collection 01. Range Extension will be available from selected stores and online at Shopbaina.com from October 12.
