In these uncertain times art is a salve. And with a bright and shiny new year upon us, we're looking ahead to our favourite galleries to wash away the remnants of 2021, and inject us with hope, inspiration, curiosity and awe along the way. But what's on the art roster this month? While January tends to be a slow burn with many still in holiday mode, there's plenty on offer in the way of art exhibitions and shows in 2022. From Cherine Fahd's Ecdysis at Carriageworks to Cement Fondu's partnership with Studio A titled Magical Putt Putt, you won't have to look too hard or too far for an art show worthy of your attention.
Below, we've rounded up a non-exhaustive list of unmissable exhibitions happening across Australia this January. Enjoy!
