A$AP Rocky, the acclaimed rapper and husband to Rihanna, has been cast in Spike Lee's forthcoming crime thriller, Highest 2 Lowest.
The film is set to be an English-language remake of Akira Kurosawa's 1963 classic High and Low, which was itself based on Ed McBain's novel King's Ransom. In this new adaptation, Rocky portrays a character intriguingly named Yung Felon.
A$AP Rocky's involvement has set off a wave of anticipation. Leaked paparazzi shots from the set capture him in character—handcuffed, flanked by police—hinting at a role that’s far from incidental.
