In news almost no one was expecting; pop princess, Versace muse and Future Nostalgia artist Dua Lipa is making her acting debut. Her film of choice to make her big break? An upcoming spy thriller film, titled, Argylle, from the man behind The Kingsman trilogy.
Clearly, there's nothing this Grammy-award winning artist can't do. For Matthew Vaughn's new film, not only will Lipa make an onscreen appearance, but she'll also be providing the title track and score to the film. Talk about a triple threat.
Confirming her involvement in the project, Lipa shared a colourful film poster to her Instagram, though, it's still unclear what type of character the artist will be portraying.

In preparation for Lipa's acting debut in Argylle, we've rounded up everything we know so far about the film; including plotline, fellow cast members and a possible release date.
What is the Argylle film about?
Argylle is based on the unpublished novel of the same name by author Ellie Conway – which is proof that this is one film to definitely get excited about. The story follows "the world's greatest spy," as he finds himself in a thrilling adventure that takes him around the globe; and is speculated to be the first instalment of a potential trilogy series.
It seems like Conway's debut novel definitely caught the attention of Vaughn, who shared; “When I read this early draft manuscript I felt it was the most incredible and original spy franchise since Ian Fleming’s books of the 50s... This is going to reinvent the spy genre.”
Who will star alongside Dua Lipa?
The film is definitely sparing no expense when it comes to finding its all-star cast. Joining Lipa are the likes of Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, John Cena and Samuel L. Jackson. So yes, you could say Argylle is definitely going to be major.
When can we expect to see Argylle hit our screens?
Although there's still no confirmed date, the film has been rumoured to begin shooting this August in Europe before moving to other locations in the UK and the US. Fingers crossed this means we'll see Argylle hit our screens sometime in 2022.
Stay tuned for more details on the film to come.
