In the early months of the year we journeyed to Morocco. With photographer Amie Milne and stylist Thea Lewis-Yates we captured this issue’s face in morning light. How to capture the beauty of the girl and the beauty of the land on which you stand? You focus on the natural elements of course.
From the cool water in drenched hair. To the feel of mud on your feet and sand on your skin. The sunlight warming your body and the squint in your eyes.
Whilst international travel being the source of inspiration is temporarily far from our reality, for this shoot it was the location that acted as the start, middle and end of the moodboard. Titled So close you can almost taste it, the shoot was located at the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. In an off the grid eco earth house running from its own water source and sustained entirely on solar power we set to work. A permaculture vegetable garden, free range chickens and situated on a one hectare plot of land. The perfect backdrop for a shoot focused on natural beauty and natural products.
