850m North of Bondi Beach sits Société, the concept space home to Albus Lumen and the gathering spot for today's unveiling of Evadere, the brand's ethereal Resort 22 collection. Between sandstone rendering, lit candles, and rocks swaddled in white cotton, Albus Lumen unveiled Evadere via a video projected on heavy canvas, a restorative soundscape serving as the backdrop.
Welcomed by a guided spiritual moment voiced by Albus Lumen friend Claudia Navone, a small group of guests were encouraged to take a moment of pause - a common reminder this week - and receive the collection film, which was nothing short of serene. With inspiration drawn from light, spirituality, freedom and liberation, Evadere supplied a moment of escape through the collection which evoked a sense of warmth, sun and freedom felt in every piece.
Hues of cream, beige, muted yellows and rich blacks formed tied linen robes, floor length dresses, muslin suiting, and crotchet separates are mixed with the introduction of unisex styles.
Set to an ambient soundtrack composed by Monty Callaghan featuring tapes of his maternal and paternal grandmothers singing opera and playing the piano, models floated through a crisp white space, the only props, rocks draped with cascading white fabric. The luxury ready to wear offering standing stronger than ever as creative director Marina Afonina expands her interpretations of breathless essentials and travel pieces that provide both luxury and ease.
Crotchet, slip on shoes in black and cream to match the knitwear offering, fit for the beach and the club, made an appearance as a collaboration with London based footwear designer, NEOUS. Additionally, to add to the luxury offering, the brand reunited with jewellery designer and friend Ryan Storer to bring together a collection of semi-precious stones such as citrine and onyx to play on concepts of light and dark, tying flecks of gold throughout the collection.
